The Brewery

The British Tunnelling Society 2008 Annual Dinner will again be held at the Brewery, a venue which for over a decade has accommodated us all in a most convivial atmosphere.

The society invites its members, their partners and guests to attend the dinner. Tickets cost £80.00 per head. Most people book by the table (10 or 12) but we welcome bookings of all sizes to form mixed tables. When assembling mixed tables, we will do all we can to accommodate people’s preferences.

Download MenuWe begin the evening with the ever popular champagne reception in the King George III Room, which is again sponsored by Continental Conveyor Ltd. Dinner is served in the Brewery’s Porter Tun Room Banqueting Centre, beneath Europe’s largest single span king post roof.

We have again invited a guest speaker to address and entertain the diners. We are delighted to announce that the well known comedian and entertainer, Barry Cryer is this year’s guest speaker.

There will again be live music to end the evening, to try and distract you from networking. To ring the changes this year, we have a highly acclaimed Beatles tribute band, Rubber Soul.

To book your places at this prime social event, visit our online booking section – tables seat either 10 or 12, and individual places can also be booked. Payments may be made by cheque or credit card (not American Express): the website explains how to pay for your tickets.

When you submit your on-line booking, the website will issue an automatic email confirmation to you with an unique booking reference.

We recommend that you purchase wine and mineral water in advance from The Brewery. The Brewery’s wine list and order form will be emailed to you with your booking confirmation. When you have made your selection from the wine list, please order your choice in advance direct from The Brewery, quoting your booking reference in the space entitled ‘Table No’. This is because table numbers are not allocated until immediately before the event.

This year’s menu can be viewed by clicking here.

We may be able to offer a limited number of “meeting point” tables in King George III Room on a first come, first served basis. Please contact btsdinner@jacobs.com

Corporate tabs may be opened at the Porter Tun Room bar (by prior arrangement with The Brewery) to improve speed of service after the dinner.

NB For those few people who do not have web access to book their places, old fashioned postal booking forms for this event may be obtained from:
